Your car’s condition,
on record in 3D

Walk around your car once with your phone. CarBump turns the video into a 3D model of your car. Later, a plain photo finds its own place on that model, and you see the same panel before and after.

How it works

Scan once. Compare any time.

The hard part, finding the same spot from the same side, is done for you.

01Scan

One walk-around, a 3D model in about 20 minutes

Film a slow lap around your car. The app shows which sides it has already seen, so you know when you are done. The 3D model is built on our servers.

  • Doors, fenders, bumpers, hood and trunk
  • Every scan is its own record, never merged with another
02Locate

Later photos know where they belong

Days or months later, take ordinary photos of a panel. CarBump matches each one to your car’s own 3D model and works out which panel it shows, and from which side.

  • One wide shot first, then close-ups
  • Matched to your car, not to a generic car model
03Compare

The same panel, then and now

Each located photo is compared with the same area of the first scan. Anything that looks different is highlighted as a possible change, with the original before and after images right next to it.

  • Possible changes, not verdicts
  • The raw before-and-after pair is always kept
  • Your own records are never behind a paywall
Who it’s for

For the moments a car changes hands

  • Returning a rental

Scan at pick-up, take a few photos at drop-off. If a new mark is claimed, you have the same panel from before.

  • Handing back a lease

Show the condition the car was in when you got it, panel by panel, instead of arguing from memory.

  • Selling a used car

Give a buyer a 3D record of the car and dated photos of each side, not a handful of flattering shots.

Why CarBump

A folder of photos shows a moment.
CarBump shows the same panel, twice.

Proving a scratch is new usually means hunting for an old photo taken from the same side, at the same angle. CarBump does the matching.

Photos alone

Dozens of pictures from different angles and distances. Finding the one that shows the same door, from the same side, is up to you.

CarBump

Every photo is placed on your car’s own 3D model and compared with the same area from before. The evidence is a matching pair, not a guess.

Honest limits

What the beta does not do yet

This is new technology. Results depend on the light and on how the car was filmed.

  • No roof, no underbody

CarBump covers the panels between eye and waist height. Parts filmed from too few angles are marked in blue on the model. We never fill a gap with AI: a smoothed-over gap could hide a dent.

  • Shiny white paint is the hardest case

Plain, reflective paint has little texture to match against. Close-ups work best right after one wide shot of the whole car.

  • Highlights, not guarantees

A highlighted area is a possible change for you to look at. CarBump does not decide what counts as damage.
